Semiconductor and manufacturing experience, applied to difficult parts.
InDesign Products is a precision CNC machining and product engineering company in Boise, Idaho. Behind the machines is nearly 20 years of semiconductor process, equipment and manufacturing experience, and it shows when a part is difficult.
Tight tolerances, complex multi-face geometry, a process that has to repeat part after part, or a design that is still changing: we take them on the way process engineers do. We machine on DMG MORI five-axis, vertical and mill-turn equipment under an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system, and we design and sell products of our own under the Killer Golf and Metonboss brands.
What that experience means for your part
The habits of semiconductor process and equipment development carry over to a machine shop.
01/ Root cause, not trial and error
Semiconductor process development is the discipline of isolating one variable at a time. When a feature won't hold size or a finish comes out wrong, we work back to the cause with measurements instead of repeated guesses.
02/ Built to repeat from the first part
Taking processes from R&D into volume production teaches you to plan fixturing, inspection and documentation early, so the hundredth part matches the first.
03/ Outside processes qualified, not assumed
Years of equipment and vendor evaluations carry over to how we choose and control the partner shops that handle finishing, coating and other outside processes.
04/ A sketch is a starting point
We have taken our own designs from concept to patent to production. If you have an idea but no drawing yet, we can start with the engineering.
The experience behind it
What we bring to the table
- Field
- Semiconductor process & equipment
- Experience
- Nearly 20 years
- Background
- Applied Materials · Samsung Electronics · Micron Technology
We come from semiconductor manufacturing, where a process has to run the same way on the thousandth wafer as on the first. We hold machined parts to the same standard.
That background covers process and equipment development, moving processes from R&D into volume production, and qualifying equipment and suppliers. We have also taken our own designs from concept to patent to production, including the putters behind Killer Golf.
InDesign Products is led by founder and CEO Shamik Patel.
Working with partners
Machining stays in-house in Boise. When a part needs a process we don’t run ourselves, we coordinate it with partner shops that are evaluated under our quality system, and we deliver the completed part.

Have a difficult part?
Send the drawing, even if another shop has passed on it. We’ll review it and tell you plainly whether it’s a fit. If you only have an idea, we can start with the engineering.
